BES PTO Continuity of Learning Q and A - Shared screen with speaker view
Concerned about levels of household ability to engage
Christine Burt Solorzano
FYI. Peak COVID 19 in Virginia is projected to be May 20.
Will you post this meeting to the Brownsville website. If so, when will it be available. I just wanted to jot a few more notes from the responsive classroom slide.
Any chance we can have a moving up ceremony this summer for our 5th grader?
Will guidance counselors host any more "lunch bunches" like they were before school let out?
confused by term live learning? no zoom
is it possible to have material delivered the day prior, to provide time to plan the day
and this point
You mentioned getting technology to kids who need it. Is there anything that will require and apple device? My Kindergartener has access to an android and a PC, but we don't have an Ipad. Will she need to specifically have an apple device.
A virtual 5th grade graduation would be awesome, I know a kid who would help w/planning!
will we be able to reach guidance counselors at all?
Terri Lynn Petty
Did you mention that this school online learning arrangement will go through May 22 (6 weeks)? Does school end on May 22 or will it go through the original end date in June?
Thank you and much appreciation for all of you and the hard work during such a uncertain and crazy time.
When will case managers be in contact with a plan? Tomorrow, so families can hit the ground running with plan on the 13th? Or should we not anticipate that communication until later?
Will assignments posted to seesaw be predominantly online or printable style worksheets?
Very low importance question, what about year books or lunch account money for children not return to Albemarle county schools?
Could the week's assignments be shared Sunday afternoon so working parents can plan their week?
School ends May 22nd.
There are some security issues with Zoom as we hear.
Thanks for all that you all are doing! So thankful my kiddo is in such an excellent school.
The Dept. of Technology has worked to change some zoom settings to make it safer. We have a waiting room instituted so we "admit" participants. We also will create random links that others will not know.
Will Bee Programs be reimburse?
If our teacher gets sick, will admin email us or will a team of teachers be working w kids?
The waiting room option has been working really well for us at my work, Sandy - thank you!
Why is the school year ending May 22nd?
If so, can they fund be redirected to the lunch program?
Also, Please keep in mind that Zoom opportunities are not required and we are a family first division so if you do not feel comfortable with your child participating please feel free to not connect that way.
Thank you for everything you are doing to make this work for our children!!! You are appreciated 😀
Sunday would be great, thanks!
Yeah, I would prefer Sunday as well.
What is the expectation for teachers being available during the work day for kids?
Sunday afternoon also!!
*can the refund of the Bee Program be directed towards the lunch program?
Thank you for all you are doing! I am so grateful to be a part of the Brownsville Family. We appreciate all you are doing! Another for sending school work on Sunday.
When will the Seesaw setup directions be sent? I saw there was Seesaw Family and Seesaw student?
For rising 6th, how will transition to HMS be supported?
More info will follow in next week’s BeeMail, but bee program classes card charges will be reimbursed and checks will not be cashed.
Thank you. You all (Administrators, teachers a and other employees) have quickly made a complete adjustment in the format of teaching very very quickly for the children and I greatly appreciate all of your hardwork.
thank you all so much!!
Bummer but thank you
Thank you so much to the whole Brownsville team for figuring out this new way of learning and building community!
thanks for everything! you guys are the best!
So, is my child's teacher working from home full time for the next 6 weeks?
Will the Syllabus / assignments of all teachers in the grade level be the same ?
Mary Beth Bowen
A huge thanks to you all! We appreciate everything you are doing.
Just echoing the appreciation for the great work you all are doing during these extremely challenging times!
The last 2 weeks are generally field trips, parties, field days, etc. so I think May 22 makes sense
Henley’s Zoom meeting stated that there was no SOL review as one reason for ending earlier.
summer school discussion is more for kids who need help to catch-up or for all students to cover certain material up
thank you for providing learning for our children and allow them to continue to grow during this different time
will there be a grade 3-5 laptop pick up again?
Huge thank you from us! Be safe and stay healthy
